Never knew Shiner was a "cheap" beer. Same with Yuengling, that's my favorite beer. I will have to give Steel Reserve a go, never had it!

SR is 8.1% ABV, and cheap as can be. Watch out for that one.

Not in TN. We put a cap at 5% abv as to what you can sell in grocery/convenience stores. Anything above 5% you gotta sell it at a liquor store. They don't carry stuff like SR at liquor stores here. :(

Yuengling is priced at around the same as the rest of the domestics around here, it's always on tap, and it's always the same price. It so much better than anything else in that group, though.
I'd even go so far as to say it can compete with a good number of the lower-mid premiums/imports.

Yep great beer. I tell you what I hate is our high prices on booze. I was in NC when I was 18-22 and I miss how cheap beer was there. Mind you TENNESSEE is the GREATEST state in the USA, but paying $11.97 for a 12 pack of Yuengling when you can get it for $9.50 in NC is absurd. I understand we have to pay a bit of a premium to live in TENNESSEE, but we want to party like everyone else!
